Aqua Digital Gives Us a Look at the Profilux 3 Expansion Box

The Profilux 3 is already a great piece of workmanship offering anyone a host of options and ports, but for those who just cant get enough, well read on!

Aqua Digital says:

The first photo is of the front panel, Pretty exctiting eh!  But dont be fooled, what lies beneath is what matters.

The second photo below is the one that counts. As you can see the master expansion box (as I like to call it) has the following built in features

2 x level ports
1 x Temp port
1 x pH port
1 x Redox port
1 x Conductivity/salinity port
4 x 1-10V ports
2 x PAB sockets
5 x spare ports that can be filled with dual mode cards making the box equipped to expand to a further 10 utilities!!

The PAB sockets are for PAB equipment (PAB power bars etc) and for the addition of further expansion boxes. Now you can see why the ProfiLux 3 is Infinite expandable!!

Profilux 3 Expansion Back

Profilux 3 Expansion Back

This model of expansion box is aimed at two markets

1. The client that does not have as yet the profiLux EX upgrade fitted and would prefer to seperate some functions, for example if their sump was in the basement, you would then run the PAB ethernet cable down to the basement and have the expansion box seated neatly by the tank. This deletes the need for long extender cables or messy expansion modules on cables.

If you notice you also get a lot more features than the EX upgrade kit, so it lends itself well to those who want the ultimate of control functionalities, but not located in the Profilux 3.

2. The other market for this box is for those who wish to run seperate systems or commercial fish houses, as noted above the box can be extended on further, in effect having one box per system running off the master profLux 3 controller.

A Basic box will also be launched in time that will just be expansion slots where the client can choose what they wish to fill it with, more details on this will follow in time.

Go get one!!! I’ll comment in a price for you as soon as I get it!

Expand your Reefkeeper – New Module from Digital Aquatics

Add this to your Reefkeper Elite or Lite and you get separate PH and Salinity ports plus additional temp and switch ports. The unit will be selling for $80 from DA and should be available in September. Includes the module, 6 ft Bus cable and mounting screws. Sorry, not supported by the RK1 and 2.

The RKM-SL2 is the newest System Lab module from Digital Aquatics. It’s a big leap forward with fully (and individually,) isolated PH and salinity ports.

The SL2 also allows for another temperature probe to be added to the system for redundant monitoring as well as two more switch inputs; great for ATO systems or leak detectors.
